Ce jardin urbain a une petite hose qui arrose 77 boîtes à fleurs. La minuterie fait en sorte que chaque plante recoit un arrosage direct pendant 15 minutes chaque matin à 7:00 am. Les toits sont des places difficles pour le jardinage dû au vent et soleil direct. L`humidité constant dans le sol est essentiel. Grâce à l`arrosage automatique, ces clients peuvent prendre des longues vacances sans soucier que leurs plantes vont manquer d`eau.
This rooftop garden has a sleek mini hose to 77 individual plants/containers. The timer program allows each plant to receive a direct watering for 15 minutes every morning at 7am. Rooftops are tricky places to grow plants because of how hot and windy they are. Constant soil moisture is essential. Thanks to their automatic drip system, these clients can now take long vacations without worrying about their plants lacking water.

On commence par installer une hose mère de laquelle est connecté plusieurs mini-hoses qui mènent à chaque plante.

Certaines plantes demandent des différentes quantités d`eau, comme des tomates ou des concombres qui vont boire 4 litres d`eau par jour quand il fait chaud. Le montant d`eau qui arrive à chaque plante est réglable de 0.5 litres par heure jusqu`à 20 litres par heure.

Basically we install a main hose line and from it run mini hoses to each individual plant.

Some plants have greater watering needs, like tomatoes and cucumbers which can consume up to 4 litres of water on a hot day. The amount of water that flows through each mini hose is completely adjustable, ranging from .5 litres/hour to 20 litres/hour.

Since the timers we use run on batteries they can be installed on hose outlets or remote water sources like rain barrels and let gravity do the rest. The timer controls when the water is allowed to pass through the device.

In industrial agriculture about 70% of the water used is lost to evaporation because they just spray the fields with massive sprinklers. Automatic drip irrigation solves that problem by giving a small stream of water to each individual plant at its base. This also avoids rot-based diseases that plants can suffer from when their leaves stay wet too long and also avoids burning that can occur when water drops on foliage magnify the sun’s rays.
